The Environment
The environment within and outside a classroom strongly influences a teacher's ability to carry out an effective program throughout the day.
At Healthy Planet, we understand that your child learns best in an age-appropriate environment built to meet his/her needs. And, we know that there are specific ways to arrange space to support and encourage a child to explore. We invite you to visit and get a firsthand look at our facility. To experience for yourself how each age-specific classroom, learning centre and play area creates a sense of safety, security and stimulation - and to see how our teachers keep your child's spaces clean, attractive and comfortable.
Air Conditioned Spacious Classrooms
Comfortable and engaging environment is conducive to learning. Keeping this in mind, we make sure that kindergarteners enjoy the benefits of bright, well-lit and air conditioned spaces. Our classrooms have been designed aesthetically, combined with practicality and resourcefulness. Each classroom at Healthy Planet is spacious, houses a semi-circular seat arrangement, a teacher's corner and cubby-holes for bags alongside space for story time, circle time and art work.
Splash Pool
As part of our Naturalistic Centre, we have an outdoor Splash Pool which apart from being a fun-house for our kindergarteners, serves as a pedestal for developing their gross motor skills. Presence of a swimming instructor alongwith a life guard at all times during “Splash Sessions” provides a safe environment for the young ones.
Sand Pit
Our kindergarteners make use of the Sand Pit, also housed within the Naturalistic Centre. Used in several ways, this area promotes communication exchange between students, develops their fine & gross motor skills besides presenting them with numerous activities & play options. Students use their fingers to trace out alphabets in sand, make shapes in similar ways and construct “sand castles”. Pre-number concepts especially the ones related to measurement (heavy/light, more/less) are taught within this area.
Large & Interactive Play Area
All our classrooms open up in a large indoor play area which houses various toys, bouncies and games that encourage physical development of our kindergarteners. There are regular additions to this play area in accordance with the theme in progress. Children play games like Cricket, Golf, Basket-Ball and Bowling with assistance from teachers. Immense socio-emotional development of kindergarteners can be observed and fostered during play time. Values like tolerance, patience, politeness along with practices like taking turns, sharing etc. are promoted by our teacher-mentors.
Multiple Intelligence(s) enabled Resource Centre
A Unique feature of Healthy Planet is our Multiple Intelligences enabled Resource Centre. As mentioned earlier, a child can learn in eight different ways. The MI Resource Centre provides the child with experiences and aids that can develop understanding of concepts in each of these eight ways. The Resource Centre houses within itself 8 different “Learning Centres” corresponding with each intelligence. These are;
1. Linguistic/Verbal Centre
Linguistic centre contains sandpaper alphabets, word puzzles, vocabulary builder, talk about puzzles, phonic guides, story-books, pop-up books, touch & feel books etc. to engage the verbal learner.
2. Mathematical/Logical Centre
Mathematical Centre houses several sets of JODO GYAN teaching aids which are used to introduce pre-number and counting concepts to kindergarten children. Alongside, shapes, colours, pattern & sorting activities are supported by RANGOMETRY & AKAAR PARIVAAR kits. The children also make use of Abacus and other 3-Dimensional maths puzzles.
3. Visual/Spatial Centre
Visual/Spatial Centre contains numerous theme puzzles, art boxes, theme boards, montessori toys, construction blocks and soft toys.
4. Musical Centre
Musical Centre houses a CD Player, microphones, collection of educational audio CDs, audio stories, musical instruments, animal sound games, stethoscopes etc.
5. Interpersonal Centre
Interpersonal Centre encourages group work among students. It consists of attractive group work tables, stools, art & craft supplies, group project guides etc.
6. Intrapersonal Centre
Intrapersonal Centre situated in a corner of the resource centre provides relative privacy to the child for some “me time”. Here, the kindergartener can explore things by himself/herself. Squashy floor cushions, a collection of attractive picture books, individual play toys etc. are provided for the child who wants to be in his/her own company.
7. Kinaesthetic Centre
Kinaesthetic Centre located outside the four walls of the MI Resource Centre offers kindergarteners an opportunity to work out their excess energies through bodily play. A low Balancing Beam, Alpha-Numeric Floor Puzzle Mat, Cricket, Basket Ball, Bowling and Golf keep them delighted. Various new additions are made to the centre periodically to keep the children excited & engaged.
8. Naturalistic Centre (outdoor)
Naturalistic Centre, as the name suggests, brings an element of nature in the day-to-day learning of the child. Housed within this centre, a Splash Pool with rain showers, sand pit, bird bath, kitchen garden and diverse range of plants & trees provide kindergarteners with a truly sensorial experience.
Multimedia Projectors
State-of-the-art Multimedia Projectors and customised software complements classroom learning at Healthy Planet. Kindergarteners watch short English movies and children's shows related with the monthly themes. Often, our creative teachers prepare brief picture presentations on MS PowerPoint to make things clearer and interesting for the young minds.
